one for linus

Not a good photo as you can see the backing fabric (which has parrots on it) in the green squares.

The green fabric on this is really dark and I said to Mark how the photo made it look different and he said "yes, the photo looks really nice".....

Another finish - because it just needed binding.  I had even cut the binding out ready so why did it take me so long (definitely more than two years) to sew it on?

Two finishes in the snow

Two finishes already this year - but I only had to do the binding and we are snowed in.  Both quilted by Mark last year.

The bottom one doesn't really work - you can see what it is meant to be in the photo but in real life, it is too big to see the pattern.

I think I forgot to post this one.

Catching up

A Merry Mayhem mystery quilt - which has gone to Linus.

A scrap quilt that Mark quilted for practice.

A scrap tumbler.

Some drainage bags which have gone to Rocheberie.

I keep forgetting to update this....

A bag using a random panel, a quilt that is now on the back of the sofa for Halloween and a completely blue quilt (although it doesn't look it from the photo).

finished

A Kaffe Fassett pattern but I used some of my Hawaaian shirt collection.

Two finishes

The first one is this year's New Year's Day mystery from Longarm University.  It is a wholecloth and took me two weeks to quilt - I finished it earlier in the year but have only just put the binding on (as usual).

The next is an English Paper Pieced - I made the top last year (I think) but have just quilted it AND put the binding on ready for a Rocheberie challenge this month.

I forgot about this one!  Finished a few weeks ago.  I have loads of UFOs so started something new...

Another bag.

Mark bought me a present - which I am now going to start filling - and an update on sewing threads I have used since moving in on the 16th Jan.

A few finishes

Bags - a demo project from Heirloom quilters.

Mug rugs - fabric from the sale at the Sewing Centre.

A new name badge for Heirloom.

A rail fence made from fabric from Dunelm which was all £2 a metre in the sale.

Deja vu

I had two of the panels so the only thing different is the backing fabric.

I have decided I like large coasters so this is an orphan block quilted and bound....

Last year

It is March already and I haven't even counted up last year's efforts yet.

A total of 15 quilts and 4 lots of other things...

Not much happening so far on the quilting front this year.  Moved on the 16th January but have just about unpacked all the boxes now - about 3 left but they have stuff in that I don't know where to put yet.

Packing to move unearths all sorts of things.  This is a panel that I have simply quilted.  I needed to test out Ness in her new location and wanted to see how long it took to meander quilt a cot sized panel - 25 minutes.  The binding took longer than the time to quilt it.

Like buses as it is nearly the end of the year

Three dog quilts (using Aldi fabric) and an ugly squares one.

I can't remember

I think this is a Bonnie Hunter pattern, but I can't remember.....  very colourful.

more finishes

Three more finishes - the first is a scrappy one just for general use, the next one is for Linus and is made from Aldi fat quarters featuring Tinkerbell and the third one is plain fabric and African fabric.

One that has gone to Linus - but it was a good user of scraps.

Saturday, 18 March 2023

Went to my first workshop in an absolute age on Thursday.  Gail Lawther at Lutterworth Piecemakers.  I finished my project on the day - all apart from the binding - and then had to get my (workshop) sewing machine back out today as I had missed a bit when quilting the background.   An Oyster Catcher.   I chose this pattern (from the four available) as I am sure Mark and me have seen these at Bridlington.

2022 count

In 2022 I made a total of 14 quilts, one bag and one doll.  Doesn't sound like much....
