completely forgot

Finished this ages ago but only put a label on it just before Christmas and then Mark delivered it. It is a quilt for Sophie Emma Hartwell who was born in May. Mark, I think, liked the back as much as the front so I had to photograph that as well (it is one of my favourite fabrics).

whoops....

Have just had a sort out session and pulled out all the completed tops I have that just need quilting. I was going to set myself a target for next year of trying to get one quilted a month and get them all done, the only problem with that plan is that I have found 28 tops.....

Hot and cold finish

This is a pattern by Ferret called Dawn and Dusk but I used my own dyed fabric so have more of a "hot and cold" feel to it...

Willow

Willow has come to live with us. I had a nearly finished quilt which I found under the eaves in the attic ages ago. I had stuffed it there as I didn't like it when I was making it and then I had forgotten about it. I found it when looking for something else and thought I would put the blocks together and finish it off. Hated putting the blocks together. Hated the finished result. Had sewn down two sides of the binding (least favourite job ever when it comes to quilts) and dropped it down and left it because I didn't like the quilt anyway. Cat took to sleeping on it. Hung it on the washing line to blow away some of the cat hair - it rained. Washed and tumble dried the quilt and cut off the excess binding from the two edges I hadn't sewn down. Donated it to Willow's basket and she loves it!

Nessie

Arrived 10.15pm on Monday 26th July 2010. I have called her Nessie because she is a monster and comes from Scotland (Glasgow rather than Loch Ness.....)

Dyeing update

Took my latest batch of dyed fabric along to Rocheberie today and sold all of it! Really pleased as it means I can dye some more now. Nice to have something good to do in this heat wave we are having - it is too hot to be in my sewing room so I am getting sewing machine withdrawal symptoms....

Belated Strawberries and Cream

This was my Strawberries and Cream entry this year so a very late photograph as I finished it in about April!!! I couldn't show it earlier in case Clara saw it and then when I fetched it back from Bramble I forgot about it and then when I remembered I thought I had a photo on the camera but I didn't and it goes on etc.... I called it Dizzy Dresden.

A finish for Reuben

Jacob has a new brother and I wouldn't want there to be any arguments....

Another finish

This was a top I made ages ago - probably over a year or more. I have shoved some fleece on the back and got it quilted. This was an experiment in doing stuff on point. I like the look and did a huge top on point after this. The flutterwheels star one which I really like.

A finish! This was a one day mystery by Planet Patchwork on 1st Jan this year.

First finish of 2010

This was finished a few days ago but the camera has been Dead Jim. It is already hanging on the wall. Amazing for this house - it completely bypassed the draping over furniture stage for the next three years.....
