Barbie pink chair

My sewing room chair is a cheap and cheerful plastic one from Ikea - it is very comfortable to sit on but, being plastic, can be cold.  I have had a cushion on it for that reason for ever but the other day decided it was cold on my back (I must be getting old).

I have made myself a small quilt that drapes over the back of the chair and tucks into the hole by the base.  Used up some orphan blocks.

Peg bag and basket

The rush is on to get the completed count higher in 2021.....     This is a peg bag (left) and a small gift basket (right).  Both were easy to make.

At the last Rocheberie meeting, a lady "showed and telled" the peg basket and, randomly, when I got home something turned up on facebook which led me to the website selling the pattern......  Technology definitely listens in - and we haven't even got an Alexa.

Just strips

It feels like I haven't finished anything for ages.  This was from my 2 1/2" strip bin.

Graffiti Quilting

As this is a big birthday year for me I treated myself to an online class.  I can't remember how much it was because I paid for it at the beginning of the year when I got an early bird discount. There is one more class to go but this was my homework from the last class.

The class is Graffiti Quilting with Karlee Porter and is done online via facebook videos.  The class goes out live but because of the time difference it is 9pm here - and goes on for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours....  I have been watching on catch-up on Sunday afternoons.

Coaster and baskets

Lidl have started selling Fat Quarters!!!!  The pack of 4 included the pattern to make a basket.  The blue fabric with cars is from Lidl following their pattern and the pink one I tweaked a bit - came out a bit better - less piecing seams - I think the pattern called for a larger seam than 1/4" - which I didn't do of course so ended up with a few pleats in the blue basket.

This coaster is for me!!!  There was a seller at FoQ called Shute Lane - the most beautiful fabric - but sold by the square....  I bought an offcut bag for £1 containing small bits - just enough to make a coaster!

Festival of Quilts and mice

I went to the Festival of Quilts twice this year - Friday and Sunday.  I bought the pattern for this bag on Friday and made it on Saturday!  Not sure it came out quite right - my denim fabric (also bought at FoQ) was too light - so I have now bought an alternative to give it another go.  It is a Beth Studley pattern and I told her on Sunday that her pattern was my first make after the show!

I have also been making mice.....  One of these is stuffed with lavender and is making Mark fall asleep in front of the telly and the other is stuffed with catnip and got posted through next door's letter box....

I also found a FQ at Festival just right to make Mark a bag for his chalk when he plays pool...  I haven't given it to him yet (it is a surprise) but I am sure he will be thrilled to have his own little bag!

Well Loved

We lost Mark's dad on Monday and the contents of his care home room have come here.  His quilt has come back and is just about worn out!  Even the label is blank.  It has been well used and washed over and over.  A few holes and the binding is shredded.  Just how an old quilt should be.

Buses and cats

I've finished a few recently but just haven't taken photos.  Bank holiday today - and it is snowing - so time to do an indoor activity!

A fugly

A mystery quilt which has gone to Auntie Sandra via Fred as they have been invited for dinner.

A cat quilt which was from a demo I did at Rocheberie ages ago....

A Kevin Carrot for Linus

A storage pod which were all the rage just a short while ago.

Another one bites the dust

I pieced this at Park Road but quilted it here so it hasn't waited quite so long for its binding..

Old UFO

This must be one of my oldest UFOs (I think I say that a lot).  It was one of the earliest classes I  took at the Bramble Patch - I hate to think how long ago that must have been.  It has been quilted and waiting for binding for over two years as we were living at Park Road when I quilted it.  Finished now!  I am sure the class/quilt was called Serengeti Curves.

Shadow box

I think next time this quilt needs a darker "box" fabric - the pale green gets lost a bit against the too dark "shadow".

2 down.....

6 to go - that need binding....

The top one was the Longarm University New Years Day mystery quilt for this year and the bottom one is a table runner I made the same as the commission I had last year (I cut too many squares).
