This was the New Years Day mystery for this year - finished it at the beginning of the year but I have just done the binding.  Arthur found it untrimmed and kept going back to it and chewing at the sticking out bits of wadding so I had to get it done just so I didn't have to keep picking bits up.

The mystery class was the trees, the grass and the leaves then it was my choice of what to put in the middle.  Mark laughed when he saw the finished quilt as I shout "squirrel" every time I see one in the garden.

3 at once

The top one is a quilt for Project Linus.  I "volunteered" to make up a quilt from kit form.  It is a disappearing 9 patch made from 5" squares.

The middle quilt is all  Aldi Fat Quarters - Harry Potter themed featuring lots of chocolate frogs - which is why I liked it.

The bottom one is the last of my challenge projects for Piecemakers this year - it was to use purple fabric.  Came along just at the right time as I wanted a plain colour but not black.  A jelly roll quilt to make the squares with the purple and white on white fabric added.

Zips

Has anybody, ever, said they enjoyed putting a zip in?!  This was a sewing evening at Lutterworth Piecemakers last night - a vinyl bag with a zip in the top.  Mine is finished - enough said.....

I am going to use it to put sewing bits in to keep with my sewing machine as I had nothing with me last night - apart from my machine - but fortunately there was a seam ripper in the little tool box...

Arthur

We picked him up last Sunday (17/07/2022) and he is settling in quite nicely!

A finish!!!!  This has gone to Oscar - a dog walking friend's dog - who had to have his eye removed this week.  It is a get well soon quilt.

It has taken just over three years but I have filled my bobbin vase - I can't understand how I have used all this thread but have so few finishes to show for it - my UFO stack must be vast....(it is).  I decanted them to the bottom of a planter bucket - but they didn't look like much in there.  They are now buried under compost and some wild flower seeds - not much is growing yet.

New Technique

Lutterworth Piecemakers are doing a challenge this year.  We all have a Bingo card and have to tick off 6 "items" to get a prize at the November meeting.

I have ticked off two as I made a bag (nothing spectacular) and my "new technique" to tick off was this doll and her clothes.  The pattern calls her Lizzie but she might get called something else - she certainly did when I was making her.....
