I won a prize!

I won a prize!  My yellow EPP quilt (previous post) was "viewer's choice" at Rocheberie on Saturday.  The prizes are a mystery as you get to choose a random sealed gift bag so my prize was the bag above - I will put it to good use on my travels down South....

Buses and cats

I've finished a few recently but just haven't taken photos.  Bank holiday today - and it is snowing - so time to do an indoor activity!

A fugly

A mystery quilt which has gone to Auntie Sandra via Fred as they have been invited for dinner.

A cat quilt which was from a demo I did at Rocheberie ages ago....

A Kevin Carrot for Linus

A storage pod which were all the rage just a short while ago.

Bag and box quilt

Went to Bramble Patch on Tuesday to see the Christmas exhibition. Came back with this small halloween bag kit (from the sale section) because I loved the spider fabric! The quilt was a UFO from ages ago - a Rocheberie workshop on a Sunday with Susan Briscoe. It was supposed to have circles appliqued on it as well but nah, am calling it finished.

Last finish of the year?

I am ahead of myself. This is a quilt for a demo I am doing at Rocheberie quilters in January next year!

Rocheberie challenge complete

This is my fifth - and final - UFO finish for the Rocheberie challenge this year. I made this top on the Devon retreat in Feb 2017 but it is now quilted and bound.

Mystery UFO

This is my latest finished UFO for the Rocheberie challenge. I am fairly certain it was a Merry Mayhem one day mystery - but then again...... I found the perfect binding fabric for it in my stash - pulled it out and put it to one side - never to be seen again...... I still haven't found it. I used plain black in the end.

Rocheberie UFO

This top was from the demo I did for Rocheberie probably two years ago.....
Have just looked back and I did the demo in July 2015.....

First finish of the year

Rocheberie are going a challenge this year - 5 UFOs to be finished and taken to the 5 remaining meetings - and then there is a prize for everybody who completes all five. This is my first finish of the year - at the start of the year I had the basket blocks made but putting them together was far more involved than it should have been. I am not a huge fan of miniature stuff - the finished basket blocks are 2". It really is finished though - it has a hanging sleeve and everything - although I've just realised it hasn't got a label on it....

Rocheberie BOM challenge

Not a very good photo but this was the Rocheberie BOM challenge from last year - we had 2 blocks at each meeting and then it was viewer's choice for the winners. Just glad to have a finish!

Winner, winner, brocholli and cream cheese bake dinner

We had a challenge at Rocheberie, we were given half a yard each of the red and blue fabric and wadding and were told to make what we like. My quilt won 3rd prize out of 39 quilts! I won a package of four fat quarters. Tonight I am like the cat that got the cream!

Another Rocheberie mystery finish

I made another one. Rather than using two colours, I used left over bits and orphan blocks etc. I thought it would use up a bit of "stash" but all it did was make getting the lid back on the box impossible because I had rummaged in the contents so much.

Finish in time for Halloween

I can't be too early with my Halloween finish - there is stuff in the shops already.... This was a mystery class at Rocheberie earlier this year. It was 10" squares and strips. I made one in Halloween fabric as Mark says - when it comes to my stash - I have a Halloween problem. I quilted it with a panto called "Along Came A Spider".

A finish - they are like buses.....

No finishes for ages and then two at once.
This is Ani's heart pattern and, with Ani's permission, I did a demo at Rocheberie quilters yesterday. I had the quilt made in 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" squares to show what it looks like in different sizes. I had printed instructions and asked for donations to Rugby Pawprints and with the £5 for doing the demo, I raised £16.43 - not bad! When people asked how much they should donate I told them 10p if they don't like dogs and more if they do.....

Bramble non event

Me and my big gob, I am now 7 blocks behind with the Bramble mystery......I kept up until June though - good for me! I have been busy elsewhere. I am doing a demo at Rocheberie next weekend (with Ani's permission) and have been quilting my samples production line style....

Finish!

I have done some binding! This was a Rocheberie mystery sewing day - some time last year - I didn't do any sewing on the day as I was in the kitchen but I liked the block so came home and did it in African fabrics.

Bumble bee bag

Very pleased with myself today as made this bag and even put a zip in it - oh yes, get me!!!! It was a demo at Rocheberie quilters yesterday and the instruction sheet was 10 pence - what a bargain.

Rocheberie mystery - how many years ago?

This feels like my first finish in ages. This was a Rocheberie mystery day - but I can't remember how long ago - at least a couple of years I think. I had cut out lots more mice to go on it but when I decided it was time to get a move on with it and get it done, I couldn't work out where I had planned to put them, so I left them off.

Rocheberie Quilters

Rocheberie day today - no speaker. We had a bag day. Not sure how successful it was. We had quite a good attendance but not everybody was making a bag. The next committee meeting will be the decider on whether today was good or not. I was in the kitchen most of the day. I didn't mind in the morning but the afternoon seemed long as there wasn't a speaker and the rush for tea and coffee had subsided and there was no cake left! Brought Mark home two bits of cake as Muriel hadn't made her usual lemon drizzle. I have told Muriel I will make a formal complaint at the next committee meeting so it is noted in the minutes! Mark had to be content with a bit of chocolate and a piece of banana and walnut with chocolate topping - he was devistated at the lack of lemon drizzle but slightly consoled by the fact he got two bits of cake...... I helped him eat the chocolate bit and it was very nice - I think June made it but I can't remember. I am quite pleased with myself as I didn't spend much money (miracle). I made £4 on the sales table and spent £10.50 so by the time I was reimbursed my money for buying the coffee and milk, I about broke even! There were so many donated magazines I needed help with getting the box in and out of the car. A good day so far - still have casualty to watch on the telly yet this evening - fun packed Saturday night!!
